reception suggestions needed

For a co-worker.

She wants a place (preferably in Oakland) that will allow her to self cater.

I know few places let you do this but I thought you ladies might know of some places.

In contrast to earlier times, our state now recognizes that an individual's capacity to establish a loving and long-term committed relationship with another person and responsibly to care for and raise children does not depend upon the individual's sexual orientation.

Hmm, self catering in Oakland... or anywhere in the city limits is tough.  Most venues that don't have their own kitchens, have preferred caterers.  I think her best bet would be Soldiers and Sailors as they use outside caterers, but they may have to be on the vendor list.

Our she could try to convince one of these venues: Twentieth Century Club, PAA, University Club (just opened this year, unsure of their catering). Oh and maybe the Pittsburgh Center for the Arts in Shadyside.

I don't know of many venues that allow you to bring in a caterer and for those that do, it's usually  very limited.

Another to look into is J Verno Studios in the south side.  not sure if they have a preferred vendors list or not...  but it's worth a shot AND close to oakland....
