I prefer the ones with the stone top instead of the metal. A German family we know sent my parents one for Christmas (their son stayed with my parents for a year) and it is a Swissmar. I'm going to guess they knew what they were getting since they live closer to the point of origen. I could be totally wrong. It's great quality and we've used it a lot with great results. Hmmm, maybe that's what I can ask for for Christmas!
