Crazy Twilight report

I live like 3 blocks from a movie theater. When I just went out to get takeout, their parking lot was completely full, and there was a 2 1/2 block line-up of cars in each direction lining up to get in. 

I really don't get it.

You know what sucks?

Another movie I really want to see opens this weekend. But I don't know if I can handle the hysterical tweens I'd run into in the parking lot, lobby, concession stand, etc. etc...

There's a new movie theater in my metro area (albeit probably about a 30 minute drive away from me, in good traffic) that is 21+. I don't know why someone didn't think of that earlier.

I love the 21 and over ones (we have one similar, though it is for all, but they rarely show movies geared towards the younger crowd)--drinking and movie-watching is the best!

What is worse, and all aw of me, is that I saw the poster for Eclipse and it comes out on our anniversary.  I hope it doesn't make some of our fave areas off-limits with tween hysteria.

lilm - It's in St. Louis Park. I'm not sure if it just opened or is opening really soon. I read about it in the trib yesterday.

GAH! We need one of these in SoFla. Actually, H and I make the commentary back and forth EVERY.TIME. we go to the movies that there should be a theater for the 21+ or hell, 25+ set.

Before you know it, I'll be yelling at kids to get off my lawn. And I don't even have a lawn.

There's a place in Boca that gives you valet parking and a private balcony, and you can order real food and alcohol.  I've never been b/c I already think the commoners seats are too expensive at any movie ($10 to sit next to other people and watch a movie that's usually disappointing?  No thanks, I have a nice stereo, I will watch at home, in the quiet, with my wine).  I've heard it's pretty fabulous but also probably pretty pricey.
