DH and I are looking at cruisng the British Isles in 2013 or 2014 and plan on spending about 3 days prior in London and 3 days after in Paris.  Anyone have any good hotel recommendations for either location?

In Paris we stayed at the Ares and LOVED it. Steps from the Tour Eiffel.

In Paris we stayed at the Hotel Lutetia on the left bank.  Really nice staff and great location right across the street from a metro stop.  If you haven't checked them out already, Rick Steve's books have recommendations on places to stay.

We stayed at the Lenox Montparnasse, which was a really cute hotel....there is a small fridge in the room and a grocery store on the same street as the hotel, so we were able to have yogurt and croissants for breakfast for much cheaper than at the hotel or in a cafe.  There is a metro stop at either end of the street (5 mins walk max) and they are different metro lines, so you can pick the one that makes the most sense for where you are headed (which cuts down on transfers!).

LINK

This is where we staying in London this year.  It has a grocery store right by the train station.  It has a few places to eat and a pub near by.  Its a 5 min walk to the train station.  We loved it and the price was extremely reasonable. Breakfast was offered for an added price.  We just staved money and got juice and a croissant at the store every morning before the train came in. It was about a 10 min ride to the center of the city.  Let me know if you need any attraction rec too!

I stayed at Royal Garden Hotel in London and LOVED IT!!!  It's off Kensington High Street right on Hyde Park and next to Kensington Gardens.  The breakfast in the morning was amazing.  It's also really close to transit, the underground is just a short walk away (5min max) and there is a bus stop right at the entrance to the hotel.

In Paris, I really liked Hotel Muguet.  It's in the 7th and some rooms have views of the Eiffel Tower.  It's also super close to Rue Cler.  Skip breakfast and just op for something from one of the shops on Rue Cler.

I really loved both Paris and London.  Have fun!!!!
