Help with living room wall

The largest wall in our living room has the thermostat in the middle of the wall and it's driving me crazy! I can't think of anything to do with that wall because I feel like it will look like everythings centered around the thermostat. We live in an apt, so no major changes.

TIA!

We had this issue in our apartment too. We ende dup putting a console table and resting a mirror on it-- and the thermostat is behind it, then we have other items hung on either side. It looks good and when we need to reach the thermostat, then we just move the mirror forward and adjust it (but we only nee to adjust it rarely, about once every other week, so take that into consideration)

I aslo just saw something on pinterest where the girl took foam board and cut it around her thermostat, covered it in fabric and put it in a frame. Then it was like used as a "pin board" or a cork board, and other frames and stuff went around it. but you could still see the thermostat.

I think it was on  the better after blog, if you doa   search for it...

What about a mini shelf such as the box (boxes) designed ones from target, and then you can place items around it to draw attention away from it. Another suggestion is a picture with a hallow back or a shadow box type picture that would fit over the thermostat but still be in fairly easy access.

does it have a sensor on it? if so, covering it might be tough.

as PP said with a sensor you can't do this. I know because this is orignally what we did with our thermostat and the heat wouldn't kick on because it trapped the air behind the thermostat.

If you really hate it, and you are planning to be there for a long long time- you can actually have an electrician come in and have it moved as well...

you might laugh -- but we recently bought the nest thermostat, and I wouldn't wanna cover that up for anything in the world. haha i actually kind of like having it stuck in the middle of the wall - its so cute! =P

I would say you can decorate with two different themes on either side of it. This way, the eye is drawn to the art next to the thermostat, instead of the thermostat in the middle.

I had a similar problem in my last house...I hung a mantle shelf right underneath it (and matching ones of different size around it) and then placed picture frames in front of the thermostat. You couldn't tell it ever existed and it was easy to get to so I could adjust the heat.
