Straight Talk wireless for Iphones - thoughts?

I was reading Consumer Reports and they rated Straight Talk highly as a low-cost, no-contract cell service for smart phones.  Apparently it's $45/mo for unlimited talk/text/internet.  I'm on Verizon now and that would literally halve my bill.

Anyone have good or bad experiences with Straight Talk?  How does it do on an Iphone 4?

 Thanks!

I haven't used it, but if Consumer Reports rates it well I'd go for it.  They're normally spot on.

I have Straight Talk, DH has ATT (his company pays for his iPhone).

I have a smart phone, but not an iPhone.  Anywhere DH has service, I have service and vice versa.  I haven't noticed anything other than the phone that I currently use is a POS -- freezes a few times per week and has to have the battery removed to restart.  I digress.

The coverage is fine, I don't know how else to describe it.  I can't drive through the Sierras and hold a conversation on my phone, but neither can DH.  So...  IMO, it's no better or worse than his ATT coverage.

I've had Straight Talk on a iPhone 4S since early October and am pretty happy with it. For the price it's great. Coverage has been solid (I live in an urban area through and mainly drive major freeways with solid coverage), data speed is slower than people with 4G but much better than my previous phone which was super slow.

We did a spreadsheet comparison with paying out of pocket (full retail price) for the phone vs signing a contract with a higher monthly rate and my break even was 11 months...a lot less than a 2 year contract.

Overall I'd suggest it to people.
