The pain you are describing is EXACTLY how mine was. It felt just like you said and it hurt in the areas just where you explained. Seriously, it was all exactly the way you described it all. I went back and forth to my OBGYN many, many times because of the pain....and the other problems that began! It all started when I first began having my period. That very first period I realized that things surely weren't supposed to hfeel the way they did. I had HORRIBLE pain with my period until I got on birth control and then they were much more manageable! I figured that many people had horrible pain with their period so I just made sure to take my bc and went on about my business. Eventually, I became sexually active and it wasn't until I was around 20 years old that I began to have pain after I had an orgasm. Honestly, it wasn't that bad until I was finished having sex that the pain would really kick in. Within five minutes of being done, I would begin to hurt just like you described. They only way that I could get it under control was to get into a scalding hot bath until the pain eased up. I saw my doc a few times about the pain but it was always chalked up to me probably having the start of endometriosis like my mom and grandmother. So, I just learned to live with it. Besides, the pain would only really happen if I had an orgasm and before my husband, I didn't have orgasms that often! When I began to realize that things weren't normal was the first time I became pregnant. I was pregnant, had a miscarriage and then a d and c. Thats a common happening though... So, I got pregnant again a few months later. I had another m/c followed by another d and c. Still pretty common. A few months later, I became pregnant again. This time it stuck! I went into preterm labor twice, had to have the meds to stop contractions each time. Still, I made it to term and had a healthy baby! I breastfed for 3 months so my period didn't start back till around 6 months after delivering. I noticed my periods were significantly heavier and longer than normal. Also, before my first baby, my periods were very regular. Not just down to starting them on the same day each month but they were down to a 2 hour time frame. Seriously! From the time my period started as a 13 year old, I always knew what day I'd start and it was always between 9-11am! It was no longer that way but I figured that it was going to take awhile to get back to normal. I had just been without a period for over a year...what did I expect?! By the time my first turned one, I was pregnant with my 2nd. Had to stop contractions twice again but was able to make it to term again. Had a healthy baby, breastfed much longer so it was over a year post delivery when my period started back. That's when things went downhill fast. The pain was much, much worse and I was having a period all but 2-3 days each month. You'd think that having a period that was 3 weeks long would mean that it would be light but oh no, they were very heavheavy. My poor OBGYN tried everything...different birth control, IUDs, another d and c to make sure that he had completely gotten out any 'birthing material', exploratory surgery twice to be absolutely sure there were no cysts or scar tissue that had been missed via ultrasound and he even did an ablation of my uterus to make sure that any and everything in there was good and dead (burned to where nothing could be actively 'growing'. Still, nothing was working! I was still having trouble, the pain was getting much worse, I was only NOT having a period 1-2 days a month and they were getting much heavier which I thought want. After many, many long talks with my husband and my doctors, I decided that I was happy with only 2 kids (which had been our plan from the day we got married) and decided on a hysterectomy. Because I was still in my 20s back when I had it done, my doctor and I opted to leave my ovaries ovariesin place in hopes that Iwould avoid going into menopause. Everything else was taken out..cervix, uterus, fallopian tubes, etc. When my doc came in after surgery to tell me how surgery went I want quite expecting him to tell me that I had an oddly shaped uterus! I had what is called a bicornuate uterus. A bicornuate uterus is a type of congenital uterine malformation (müllerian duct abnormality). A bicornuate uterus is heart-shaped with two joined cavities whereas a typical uterus has a single cavity. It causes an increase in miscarriages, preterm labor, pain and many other complications. It all made sense all of the sudden... Why I hurt so much, why I kept losing pregnancies, why I always had preterm labor..it explained a lot! My doctor explained that it is easy to detect in some women while some women never know they have it until 30 years after child bearing age. Regardless, ever since the hysterectomy I have been PAIN FREE! Take a few minutes and read up on it. To me, you seem to be having every single symptom associated with it. No matter what is going find some answers and soon!!
