Question.... **Updated!**

I have been on Lo Loestrin FE for a year. I normally get a light period for 2-3 days each month. However, last month I had two periods one week apart. This month my period is late. I took two pills late last month but they were not consecutive pills (two different weeks). I have been having cramping on and off for 8 days along with extreme fatigue. I have been sleeping 9-11 hours a night and sometimes an afternoon nap. I have also had a significant decrease in appetite. I believe my birth control keeps me from ovulating so I am not sure if I could be pregnant or if this is just a fluke. I also don't know if it is too early to take a pregnancy test. My husband doesn't think I could be pregnant, so I am looking for some input.

Thanks!

Update: I took a pregnancy test Wednesday morning which was negative. However I am still so nauseous in the morning and at night. As well as exhausted and still having bad gas pains. I'm now 4 days late...any ideas or suggestions? I am having bloodwork done next Thursday to check my thyroid and other things.

Take a test.  None of us can tell you if you are pregnant or not, but a test can.  They say on the The Bump a lot of that if you are pregnant enough for symptoms, then you are pregnant enough to turn a test positive.

Yes, your pills are dual pills (meaning they have progestin and estrogen) so they, in theory, block ovulation.  But, it's not a fool-proof mechanism.

When you say you took pills late, do you mean you were off by an hour or a day?  If I forget a pill one day, we use back up.  I take my pill roughly the same time every day, but I'm not militant about it so a few hours each way doesn't phase me.

I was always able to get a positive super early when I was pregnant. Some women don't get positives until a little farther along. It's different from one person to the next! I'd go ahead and take a test if I were you so I wouldn't go crazy wondering. If it's negative, wait a week or so and test again. You never know...

Take another test a few days after the one you've already taken.

I'm on the exact same birth control, and after being on it for a year and a half, I had the same issues you are this past summer. I had never been late or missed a period ever since starting the pill, and suddenly I missed two. I was bloated, cramping, nauseous, and often lightheaded. Several negative pregnancy tests. Went to the doctor, everything was fine. No baby. I'm guessing they switched up their formula for the pill or something, because ever since that incident, I miss about every other period, and the whole month I miss I'm bloated and just not right.

Your body gets used to certain pills, or rather, some people's bodies do. I've actually just gotten off the one you are on. It gave me the worst side effects ever! Yep I missed periods and was nauseous at random times, etc. I had a ton of the "side effects" that were listed from taking that pill. So glad I got off and got on a new one, I would suggest you try a new pill.
