Me love sleepy! I worked late last night and slept right through DH's alarm, shower and blowdrying his hair this morning. I am really an incredibly hard sleeper. Yesterday I got to see my bff's first ultrasound pix! I'm an auntie to a little nubbin the size of an olive! I'm sooo excited! We are spending Christmas with them and it's going to be hard not to go crazy on baby gifts.

Today is my errand/workout day. Tomorrow I have a small wedding and a family session to shoot. My clients are fantastic so it should be a fun day.

What are you ladies up to?

We have an unexpected week to take a vacation, Dec 1 - 6 before DH starts a new job. We want to spend under $2k all up (food, hotel, car, etc).

(obviously) We live in Seattle, and we do not want to go to Hawaii or Mexico. We can go anywhere - warm, cold, US or abroad. I don't want to go somewhere that involves really long flights that will cut into our vacation time (Asia, etc) Help! I need ideas. I have no idea why I can't think of anything fabulous.

PS - super excited my DH is employed again!

Suggest a day trip for tomorrow

I'm trying to figure out what I can do with my brother tomorrow or Sunday that would be a good day trip. I wanted to go to Sol Duc Falls to hike but DH told me that there will be even more heavy rain there than there is here in Poulsbo. We don't really care about getting wet but probably want to avoid a total down pour. We're planning a Seattle day next week. I really want to do some fun outdoor activity this weekend. Any suggestions?

bike riding and thighs

so last night i went to put on my jeans and they were super tight on my thighs. i ride my bike everyday to/from work. i also ride in 3rd gear to get the best workout...i'm wondering if i should ride in a different/lower gear so my thighs don't get so bulky. gah...i don't want bigger thighs!!!

Half correct IMO. Yes, the puget sound does contain water from the ocean but is not the ocean.

Seattle natives do not call the freeway an interstate, they call it the freeway or I-5, they also don't call it "The 5". When referring to "the freeway" one implies they are talking about I-5 and I-5 only. If one were refering to the other "freeway" one would say simply "get on 405".

We always "discuss" these things and I am always right and he is always wrong.

Rec a Vet in Redmond

DH and I got a cat this weekend and we need to find a vet for her. She needs a few shots and we want to have her ear looked at for mites.

I'll post a picture of her soon. If we're FB friends you've seen pictures. We're calling her Dixie because she's orange and white like the Dixie cup ice cream and because she is missing a lot of teeth. She's a 6year old Maine *** and a real lover. We're learning new things about her everyday.

This is my first wedding, but not my first marriage. I really want a beautiful wedding, but budget is a huge issue.

I just want to know: what did you NOT do that you wish you had, and what did you do that in retrospect didn't really matter on the big day?

Hello Lovelies. One week until Thanksgiving! Can you believe it? I'm dreaming of turkeys and pies right now! Yesterday I went location scouting. I have two shoots on Saturday in the midst of the crummy weather. One is a family shoot, we are going to do most of it at their home, but wanted to mix it up a bit. The other is a courthouse wedding...for my ex-cousin in law. Gotta love it. I explored about everything in a ten minute drive radius from the Everett courthouse yesterday and found some awesome indoor options! I love my little city.

Today it's work, work, work, but I get to sleep in tomorrow so that gives me something to look forward to. Have a wonderful Thursday ladies!

Stress Outlet

Okay, so I knew I was stressed about my home purchase, but I didn't realize how stressed until I started noticing the physical signals.

The biggest one is my achy fingers, which seems to happen to me during times of extreme emotional stress. and then I realized that if my fingers are achy, then my other joints probably are too, which explains why running has been so much more difficult over the past couple weeks.

I won't be able to relax until my housing purchase is complete (2 weeks) and then I move into my new house (3 weeks). Then I can relax and finally be home.

The marathon is in 1.5 weeks.

I am worried that my stress is going to make the marathon extremely difficult to complete. Any suggestions for unloading some of this stress?

I don't have much money since I am in the middle of a home purchase, and I can't have sex because we are separated, and I am running regularly so there is plenty of exercise happening, and I can't relax and have a comfy day at home because I don't feel comfortable at my apartment.

wow - suddenly my life seems pathetic. :)

my new life goal is to get my house organized and all decorated by the time I'm 40.

I think she just about choked. Hearing your kid talk about 40, when you're only in your early 50s, and then realizing it really isnt that far off probably sucks!

I wasn't really kidding either. I'm kinda laid back and heck, what's the rush?

I came home last night to a mini Christmas tree made out of holiday Coca cola cans, courtesy of my husband! He is hilarious! It put me in the mood for the holidays though! I love Thanksgiving and Christmas though I do feel like they snuck up on us this year.

Today I nanny for a few hours, then I'm going to work out and give myself a mini facial. I have been eating too much sugar and dairy and my face is suffering the consequences! So I'm going to 'steam myself" and do a clay mask, yay

HUGE HUGE favor... would LOVE a signed copy of Barbara Kingsolver's book but can't really make it to the signing. Its 1:00 in Lake Forest Park on Friday at Third Place Books. Actually, its for a dear friend, his girlfriend is a HUGE fan, and he really wants to get her a signed copy (he doesn't live here and she won't be going where they live).

I would LOVE to do this for him, but it'd be a great deal of rearranging and missing some work, and make my day rather complicated. Is there anyone in the area that could? Or knows someone going? Of course we'd pay you back for the book and I'd do something nice for you!

A private school that I sub at alot just called and asked for my resume. I am hoping it's because they want to hire me permanently. But the logical side of me says that my file is not complete and they need my resume. My husband told me not to get my hopes up. But how can I not?

Okay, I'm the kind of wife that likes to have quality time in the shower with DH. My DH on the other hand, does not like to do that. He likes his showers quick, and though I agree with him that our shower isn't the roomiest spot in the house, don't you think it'd be nice if he gave in just every once in a while? I don't want to feel rejected when he says he'd rather be alone in there, but... it's hard not to. Any advice, ladies?

I ran out of time this morning, but here I am! I hope everyone is having a lovely Tuesday! I'm liking this sunny reprieve we're having after all of the wind! I found some new advertisers yesterday that I'm pretty excited about. It's really cool what some of the new wedding planning sites are doing now. DH and I were supremely lazy the rest of the evening, it was wonderful!

This morning I was woken up by a phone call 10 minutes before my alarm went off. Grrrrr! 5:30am is never a good time to call someone! Oh well, the weekend will be here before I know it

We desperately need fosters homes for this coming Sunday's arrival!

The last four Sundays we took in over 120 dogs that were saved out of the California Forest Fires in San Bernardino.

There are over 800 acres on fire and over 1300 Firefighters and all these forgotten dogs were refused by the local shelter due to lack of space.

They give us two options either board them or euthanize them and because these dogs are so great we are boarding them & saving them and bringing them up to Seattle 30 dogs at a time !!!

These dogs are so lucky to be saved as many dogs did not make it out alive.

We are making arrangements to bring them up here on Sunday ~ November 22nd.

Please ask around to your friends, family and co workers for a month or two of loving a dog in desperate need.

Thank you to all who suggested upping my Vitamin D intake. My mood has made a complete 180. I feel like a whole new person and don't think I need to take any antidepressants now. It could be a placebo effect but who cares!?
