I usually get him dinner and a movie gift cards (he lives in Texas so it's easy to mail).

I have recently found out that they put their GC in bag and then ultimately never use them. Awesome.

My Dad is so tough to get gifts for. He is turning 76. He goes to the gym every day for a couple of hours, exercycle and weights. They mall-walk sometimes, it's cute. They go out for lunch, shopping, movies, shows. No golf, no BBQing, not super into electronics.

The only things I can think of are:

They are coming out here for a month,in late August (baby due) so maybe a San Francisco survival kit? sun hat, guide book(s), ear plugs (for when the baby cries), I don't know what else.

or they recently, not even a year ago, got their first computer. I can't really think of anything related to that.

I was thinking of a kindle, but he would not put his cc # in any automated device so I would set up the account and he could send me a check every few months. I don't know if he would like that though. He's very "independent".
