Keep a record of all their calls - it is actually illegal for them to call and harass - under the Fair Debt Collections Practices Act (FDCPA). 20 calls a day would likely be considered harassment especially if you've told them to stop. Also they can't keep calling after you've asked them not to.

§ 806. Harassment or abuse
A debt collector may not engage in any conduct the natural
consequence of which is to harass, oppress, or abuse any person in connection with the collection of a debt. Without limiting the general application of the foregoing, the following conduct is a violation of this section:

(5)Causing a telephone to ring or engaging any person in telephone conversation repeatedly or continuously with intent to annoy, abuse, or harass any person at the called number.

First as you know, they won't make ANY provisions for lowering payments temporarily or deferring payments at all while DH has been out of work. They just basically said too bad, it'll go to collections and then you can do something. okay, thanks. That's really helpful.

Now they call us about 20 times a day. Literally. The home phone and then DH's cell phone. Maybe more, I don't know. I'm not sure they realize a little thing called Caller ID has been invented and I'm not going to answer the phone to speak to you A-HOLES! A couple days ago I'd had it and answered the phone and yelled 'F OFF!' then hung up.

I'm not sure what they think these calls are accomplishing when we've already spoken to them about our situation and they refused to do anything.

An explosion would be ideal at this point. A big one. Wherever their call center is located that is.
