At target, they have tons of bright colored shirts and tanks! Some like 6 bucks... that's where I got my costume for my 80s birthday party... and I still wear them often... just not all together! =)

a bright tank or 2 (layered), denim shorts or capris or leggings, keds or converse with either layered socks or low socks. Lots of pink makeup and black eyeliner, and a side ponytail! =)

There was a specific way to roll up your jeans, tucking in the corner so it would fit snug around the calf. OK, is that what you mean by peg them?

If you have any long shirts, that was in, cover the butt long. or dolman sleeves, that was huge.

the olivia newton john/richard simmons look was big with a sweat band around the forehead.

Keds were big, kswiss, adidas, pumas if you have any old tennis shoes.

hair , well you know. Huge.

colors, teal, hot pink.

If you have any tights/leggins/bike shorts wear those, otherwise peg some jeans and tease your hair.

DH and I were invited to an 80's themed 4th of July party. We can't afford to buy costumes, but want to try and make some costumes out of stuff we already own.

Any suggestions?
