My girls' father is having surgery next Monday. I wish for us to have positive thoughts that it goes well and the resulting diagnosis is not cancer. He is not a bad person and my girls need their daddy.

Every year where he works (Division of Wildlife) they do a turkey shoot with all the employees the Friday before Thanksgiving (go to their shooting range area and shoot at a picture of a turkey)

Of everyone that participated, he got the 2nd highest score and won a 21 lb turkey.

Of course I told SIL to wait to buy a turkey until he did this because IMO free is better than her $1.99/lb organic turkey, but no, she already got the turkey.

So now I need to make room in the freezer and figure out what I'm going to do with 21lbs worth of turkey.

Joel and his team (Direct Drive Painting) finished my house up last night. Joel is seriously the nicest person I've ever met, which was especially appreciated during this stressful week. DS and I realized very early on that it's best to be completely out of the house while they were working. It wouldn't have been a big deal if they were just doing a room or two but the whole house was a different story.

Anyway - they did a fantastic job and everyone was so nice. He's worked with his team for a while and I felt like I could completely trust all of them in my house by themselves.

Oh, FWIW, we had ceilings, trim, doors and walls painted. We had a nice rich taupe color throughout the house, sparkling clean baseboards and ceilings, a soothing greenish color in the office and the dining room has a red accent wall that Joel said took four coats of paint. The lines of the paint are crisp and clean -- no bleeding onto baseboards or the other wall. Everything looks fantastic!

This morning I gave him some pb on toast. Our dr had said at his 12 month appt that it would be OK and this was probably the 5th or 6th time we had given it to him. Within about 5-10 minutes he was rubbing his eyes and mouth and his face was turning red. Then he started getting little white bumps on top of the redness and wouldn't stop scratching his face and eyes. I washed his hands and face off and gave him some Benedryl, which helped.

I called his dr and we are now owners of our very own epi pen and have to take him to be allergy tested. Poor baby. It makes me so sad to think he may never know the childhood joy of a pbj.

Give up my time off during the holidays for a client that can't get their sh*t together. I have been very proactive in getting work done early and since they haven't DO NOT expect me to work extra to cover their @sses. I will be turning my Blackberry off and will not be taking calls or emails over the Thanksgiving break. I will also be taking an extra day of break as I have worked nearly two months with one weekend off.

Beta No. 2 is in

So got the call this morning about my beta no. 2 and its UP and so are all my other levels. Hip Hip Hooray!!!! My first beta was a 14 and today it was up to nearly 40 (like a 38.7 or something) so I'm just going to say 40! DH and I are over the moon and soo excited!!!! I have a 3rd beta on Monday but everything looks great and is just going great!! I don't think there's anything to worry about now, just think my doctor is keeping a close eye on me and the growing baby (or babies) right?! I will schedule my u/s on Monday to find out how many we are having! Thanks so much for all the doubling juju and good luck wishes, they definately helped. I'm so excited..ek!! I wonder how far along I am?? Hmm going to have to get an ivf due date calcuator or something.

Should I be taking LO in to see a doctor?

Our instructions on our bottle of Zantac say to give LO 6 ML twice a day. I saw on the bump that most people give their LOs more like .6 ML twice a day -- big difference. So, I called the pediatrician. We're supposed to be giving him .4 ML twice per day!!! Holy crap. It's totally the doctor's office that wrote the prescription wrong. Pharmacist just printed what they sent over. G has had 4 wrong size doses.

When I talked to the nurse, she said that G should be fine but that she'd double check with the doctor. Zantac seems like a pretty benign drug, but nearly an adult dosage for a 5 week old? Makes me kind of nervous. He's acting fine though
