They're taxing alcohol now too. From 0 to 6.5%. Stores on the NH border are pissed.

I didn't know this part!!!!!! I will absolutely only be buying liquor from NH now. WOW!

OMG! I can imagine they would be pissed. That's crazy! People will either travel to NH or CT for things they need depending on where they live.

Yep. 8/1 it is. 6.25% tax... with cities/towns having the option to up it to 7% for meals tax.

8/1 is what I saw in the Metro. I don't know if it was a confirmed date or just what they were proposing.

:) Thanks...Bea is another Pets Nest Board rescue. Her and her siblings were rescued, transported and adopted out by several Pets Board regulars. mm1569 handled much of the rescue on her own....a really great story. H and I ended up fostering Bea but my mother would watch her (because she was so young) while H and I were at work. Mom & Bea fell in love and mom adopted her (we co-adopted as Mom is in her 70s)...it worked out so perfectly as my father passed away not long before Bea came into her life. Probably much more than you wanted to know....but, thanks...I'll let my mother know just how cute her pup is!

someone mentioned the increase goes into effect on 8/1 but I can't find any "solid" info...anyone here know if this is the case? TIA.
