Got my H1N1 Vaccine today

I only wanted it because we are TTC. I'm 24 so I'm in the target range, but I was at the doctors for a tetnus shot and I happened to ask if they had any. They gave me the nasal spray kind and it was quick and easy!

and i can't decide. i should probably just start with one kind. i'm thinking about some sort of oatmeal, walnut, cranberry concoction b/c i have all of those things already.

would it be ok to start making & freezing cookies for christmas? i could do a batch each weekend and get a head start.

I think they veered off from the books to make it more twilight-y. The brunette girl, attractive brooding vampire, etc. But I do like the show. I don't even have a reason why, I think it's because I would probably love to be a fangbanger. lol

Running some errands tonight.

Since we won't see DH's family on Thursday, we are celebrating tomorrow at his parents house. Yummy food!

Sunday we will hopefully be putting the final coat of paint on our guest bedroom. It's been sitting there for months and we just didn't have the motivation to finish. But my brother may be coming for Thanksgiving, so hopefully that will be our kick in the butt to get it done.

Yesterday morning (while getting ready for surgery no less) I was trying to slice a bagel. My hand slipped and I sliced open my finger. Seriously blood went everywhere. It looked like a crime scene. My DH proceeds to tell me if I ever went missing, he'd be in big trouble once the CSI comes, and uses the luminol and a black light.

SInce I'm telling this story you girls are his alibi, the blood this time was my fault. If they find blood anywhere but the kitchen he's on his own!

I've explained here I innocently came to be addicted to Grey's...long story but the short version is:

Xmas morning about 3 years ago 715 opens gift from the mom, it's season 1 of Grey's Anatomy. 715 kind of giggles and asks if she got the wrong person's gift, 715 has never watched this show and doesn't really know anything about it. the mom swears someone asked for it and she thought it was me. hahaha...needless to say DH and I watched 1 episode, then the next and heck, since they're ALL HERE why don't we try to watch them all, IN ONE WEEKEND. and since then, I've been addicted.

My question is...why did last nights episode include all the holidays?! is that the last new show until the next half of the season?!

Just a word of advice that should certainly be filed under common sense...

Don't squeeze the juice from a peperoncini and a few minutes later, without washing your hands, try to put contact lenses in your eyes.

So tonight I'm getting a birthday gift from my parents and I am pretty sure I know what I'm getting... a Keurig single cup coffee maker with like 75 k-cups. Yes, this excites me! I feel so old, but at least I'll be caffeinated!

Visiting Raleigh - what to do?

Good morning!

My DH and I are visiting Raleigh next week - we'll get there Saturday night and will be there until Wednesday night.

The purpose of the trip is to kind of get to know the area (in as much as you can in 4 days!), to see if we'd like to move there in about a year when DH graduates. We know several people who used to live there or who have visited and they all just rave about it. So we're going to just kinda check it out and see if it's somewhere we could see ourselves.

We get in late Saturday night. Sunday we're going to go to a church service and then just kinda wander around. Monday morning we're meeting with a realtor so he can show us different neighborhoods and give us more info about the area. Monday night we're going to the UNC basketball game.

Tuesday and Wednesday are wide open, though - we plan to just explore and try to get a feel for the place. I work in higher education so we plan to walk around a couple of the universities. I really want to make the most out of this trip, though, so I was hoping you all could give some suggestions of specific things to take in or ways that we can get to know the city.

I was over at a friend's house last night and she showed me some pictures from a baby shower (I'm an acquaintence of the soon-to-be-mom) and there's a girl in several of the pictures that looks familiar. See a few more, a few more, my head starts to align, and I say--"hey, is her name Brooke?" "Yes, how did you know?" "Oh, I went to NURSERY school with her, and I was a pen-pal in ELEMENTARY school." She grew up less than a mile away from me, but we went to different elementary schools. I called a friend of mine from home and we don't think she ever made it to middle school with us--that her family moved away before we moved up. Talk about a weird coincidence, though, right? I grew up in a relatively small town in NY, and have a very limited pool of friends here in NC, and yet, someone from WAY back when is related to someone that I actually know here in NC. Crazy.
