hmm yeah it seems kinda weird, although I am trying to remember if my grandparents get my H anything. I am thinking they usually get him something dumb, like a hot Coco set from walmart or something. I would honestly rather them not spend their money on us. Sometimes I feel like my grandparents just don't think of it because well they are old and my H is "new" well we have been together for 9 Christmas's, but to someone in their 80's that's pretty new. We didn't even get anniversary cards from either of my grandparents this year, although it is kinda weird to not even send a sympathy card to your H. I don't think he should take it personally, I think old people just don't realize.

I'm thinking that is does have something to do with you being the only one married. Like, if there were other married cousins' spouses receiving gifts, but not yours, then it's definitely weird!

I wouldn't think too much of it. If you are open enough with your Dad that maybe he could say something along the lines that you would prefer no gift due to there being sooo many people who receive gifts, than that's ok. Otherwise, I wouldn't worry (especially if your DH is anything like mine and would totally not be offended).

My grandma buysgifts for all her grandchildren (we are up to over 20 cousins on my Mom's side). She has never bought a gift for DH and she loves him! The gifts are always specifcally for me too. She just really can't afford it. I feel bad that she even buys me gifts anymore. I wouldn't read into it too much.

I know it's early...but I'm already thinking about buying Christmas gifts and it reminded me of last Christmas.

On Christmas Eve we get together with my dad's parents, brothers & sisters, and their kids (my cousins). There are just over 50 people there (my dad has 9 brothers and sisters which gives me just over 30 cousins.)

My grandparents buy each person a gift. Except DH. We've been married for 2 Christmas's and the gifts they've given me are distinctly for me (usually avon stuff). I realized that they're buying gifts for a lot of people and don't necessarily expect them to buy him a gift...but they could do a joint gift for us so that he's included.. I'm also the only grandkid that is married--if that makes a difference.

Other than that we have a kids gift exchange and an optional adults gift exchange and donate to a charity.

I guess that coupled with the fact that they didn't send a card when DH's mom passed (well they sent one after my dad told them they better) I kinda get the feeling that they don't like him for some reason.
