I cant wait to eat the top tier of our wedding cake! The ONE BITE I got at the wedding was unreal! We arent doing anything to crazy this weekend as I have to work on Sat and the anny is on Sunday. We are going to go to Ruth's Chris for dinner, cant wait for that!

I normally post on the D.C. board, but I am traveling to Scottsdale during the first week in December for work and I am looking to get recommendations on things to do, places to eat and drink etc. Any recommendations? I am staying at the Scottsdale Marriott at McDowell Mountians... TIA!

Guys - It was AMAZING.

I can understand why the reviews suck, and they did for Twilight too. The movie is not something that I would say stands alone as a great piece of work. It does however follow the book extremely well. So if you are a book fan, I don't see how you won't absolutely love it.

When I saw Twilight the first time, I hated it. Absolutely laughed walking out of the theatre because I thought it was so bad. I came to love it (the next 7 times I watched it in theatres) but it definitely wasn't the book to me. It didn't make me feel like I was seeing what I had read.

New Moon was exactly that for me. From the very first scene, it was the book to a T.

The acting was definitely an improvement, the humour was much better.

Jessica stole the show, she was so great for such a small part.

Alice...was...incredibly...Alice. I have been dying to see her actually be a bigger part of the on screen version. She was so great. I couldn't stop smiling every second she was on screen.

I can't wait to see it again. If only I could be so lucky to not have to sit in line the next time I see it. I feel totally spoiled that I had VIP treatment and didn't have to wait, got great seats and saw it early. I'm strategically planning my next viewing.

One word of warning. It is a little long. I didn't feel it while watching, but my bum definitely was sore after, and there were lots of people walking to the bathroom at various intervals. But it needed to be long in order to do the book justice.

We have to go to LA the last weekend of January for a car show, DH's shop is debuting 2 new cars, 1 is up for a major award. So, it's a big deal, we can't miss is. I was excited to go until I just found out that it's the same weekend that the Phoenix Symphony has thier annual Led Zeppelin concert!! Booooo!! I took my Mom for her bday last year and it was absolutely amazing! I'm so freakin' bummed they fall on the exact same weekend this year!!!!

Anyway, if anyone even remotely likes Led Zeppelin, I highly recommend that concert-- it's so incredible!!

Wednesday my DH is going to Portland for a few days. It will be the longest he's been away since we've been married, and my first full night alone. I'm thinking of cooking a nice piece of fish (DH hates it), getting some gelato, playing with photoshop, and hopefully being able to eventually fall asleep.

When your DH is gone do you splurge or treat yourself to something special?

Maybe you haven't noticed, but I haven't been on the Nest at all lately. I've maybe come in once a week or so. Well, a few weeks ago I had a suspicion that my work installed software on our computers that monitors which websites we go to.

Sure enough, on Tuesday two girls got fired, and the only real reason given was that they had gone to non-work related websites. And not even weird ones (porn, etc), just that the higher ups had a print out of all the websites they'd gone to, and they were asked to leave.

So...I've been super paranoid lately, and last week just sort of cemented it. So I'm not exactly GBCNing, but I don't think I'll be on much in the next few weeks. Sorry ladies!

Our weekend was pretty good. Well, for the most part. We went to the outlets on Saturday with Shannon and D. Did some shopping and scored some deals (well, a few). Then we went to BRU and to Chilis for dinner.. Carl threw out his hip after dinner though so that wasnt a good thing..

Sunday, we brought the boys to get their hair cuts. Will was having horrible diapers all day Saturday and Sunday so now has a huge rash. Yikes. We watched the game last night and had our own Thanksgiving dinner (came out great.. gatta love 13lb turkeys for less then 5 bucks).

Today, we went to the doctor with William. Just to see if I could get a super strength butt cream for Will. We didnt get the butt cream but found out he has strep throat. GREAT!!! He had no symptoms of it what-so-ever. At least he is now on meds so he wont be contagious when we fly home. I am going to go to the Walgreens clinic tonight to have them test me because I have a sore throat and headache and a fever (low grade). Keep your fingers crossed for me...

Phoenix area hospitals

I haven't been around here for a while but I'm curious if any body has some input on this. DH is currently interviewing for residency programs, and our top 2 right now in the valley are Scottsdale Health and Phoenix Baptist. With the way most of them set up their insurance you either have to use their hospitals for medical care or at the very least it's very beneficial to.

The biggest medical need we're going to run during his residency is (hopefully) maternity. I don't know anyone personally who has delivered at either one of these hospitals. Do you have any experience with these hospitals or know of good sites for reviews? I know I could go over to the bump but I figured I'd ask here first.

DH is from Hawaii...he went home to see his family....which is ok. We go every single year...(I am a bit tired of Oahu) and I would like to save my vacation time to go to ITALY!!!!!!

Sorry to be late, but yes Knit Happens is one of my favorite knitting stores. I also like Jessica Knits in North Scottsdale. If you are a new knitter, Jessica Knits has the friendlier staff (to me at least) and I tend to like the yarn brands that they stock a little better. But Knit Happens is a great store as well, and they have a great stock and the store is super nice.

Do you knit? There are Arizona knitters but I know very few.

Need help with good present ideas

My sis and bro in law just moved out to the Carefree/Scottsdale area. Each year, for Christmas, I try and get them something good to do i.e. a night at a bed and breakfast within an hour of home, gift card to a nice restaurant near their home, etc. With that in mind, what would be a good gift for 2 people who are brand new to the area? Oh, and living with their inlaws until they find a house. I am also open to recommendations for good spas, performing arts suggestions - you get the idea.

What are you all doing this weekend? It's pretty cool out there so I hope you all enjoy it!

We're going shopping tomorrow at the Anthem Outlets I believe. I need to get William some jeans for our trip back east and he also needs a new pair of sneakers. Then we're going to dinner at Chili's I believe. Then grocery shopping. I was supposed to do that today but Im being lazy. Sunday, I am making Thanksgiving dinner here at home and we'll be watching the Colts/Patriots game at 6.... Fun!!

So DH and I are living with my parents for the time being until we get on our feet from our move from NJ.

We currently live in Maricopa. Yup the town that is 15 miles away from civilization lol

It is a cute town and everyone knows everyone. No doubt a niceplace to raise a family. But I would like to see what else is out there. We are more of an urban couple and like to be close to things.

So...what towns/neighborhoods would you recommed? Good schools, nice areas/parks, etc. TIA, we are totally clueless. :)

Hi everyone. I wanted to introduce myself. My name is Jenn and I just got married at the Orange Tree in Scottsdale on October 16th. I've been around a while (lurking mostly) on the knot and now here. I checked out this board when I was still wedding planning (probably 6-9 months ago) and it was really slow. So, I'm glad to know that it has picked up and you all seem to be really nice. I'm excited to get to know everyone. Oh and I finally jumped on the bandwagon and created my 101 tasks, which are in my blog. I'm glad I have something to keep me busy now that the wedding is over.
