I'm lovin' the storylines. Really like the Chief's storyline. I want Teddy and Hunt together and Christina and the Mercy guy together. Can't believe Sloan has a daughter. And feel really bad for Bailey and her father, though feel good about the outcome.

NOT lovin' the fact that it went from Thanksgiving to New Years in one hour! That totally means that there won't be a new episode until after the new year?!!! Does anyone know why? ::sigh:: I guess I can wait....

What to bring/ wear to Christmas Party?

dh and i will be spending christmas in the caribbean and then flying up to see his relatives. obviously, we cannot haul christmas gifts with us. dh suggested that we go on a big shopping trip after we get there and buy all of the christmas gifts then, which i'm fine with because that means big sales! however, when i went into the "gift room" to take inventory, i discovered that i had bought some stuff already.

since i've already bought some things, i guess my question is which would you do?

1. mail the presents we already have along with some gift cards to make up the monetary difference in what we would spend. for example, he has 4 nieces. last year during the after christmas sales, i bought them all some travel games and other small things. if i did option 1, i would mail these plus some gift cards for each of them.

2. save the already bought presents for next year and just buy when we get to his parents' house.

number 2 is the more money friendly option because mailing presents, especially for 8 people adds on a lot of $$, imo. wwyd?

I have a furniture issue in my house ... in that I have way too much.

I'm thinking about buying a flat screen TV for our bedroom next week since we have one of the old fat ones on a TV stand.

1. How hard is it to hang a flat screen (say 36"?) on the wall?

2. Is the hanging kit expensive?

3. What do you do with the DVD player, etc? We have a chair rail in our bedroom and I just can't imagine how to get the wires around it ...

I've listened to about 3/4ths of the last book and I've been listening to it since MARCH. It is SO bad I can't take much more than a few minutes at a time.

So, give me your alternate ending. I'm sure it's MUCH better than any drivel this Stephenie Meyer could have come up with. :)

Since I haven't had luck finding a job yet, I am looking into taking photography classes (asociate degree program) at ACC.

I am looking at cameras now, and can't decide if I need to get a good starter camera (either a Canon T1i, or Nikon D5000) or invest a little bit more and buy one step up.

And between the two mentioned do you have a preference one over the other? All the online reviews and comparisons are making me more confused.

Any other suggestions?

Do any of you know someone who does voice impersonations? Particularly Chuck Norris?

Our lab has a long standing tradition that every presentation given, whether lab meetings, masters defense or PhD defense has always included Chuck Norris somehow. In photos, demonstrations, etc.

I have a video that I am working on for my defense that goes through what the procedures for my study are and I think it would be hilarious to have a voice-over with someone who can impersonate Chuck Norris as the narrator. Any ideas? Thanks!

Another ? about the Christmas Affair

I have never been to the Christmas Affair. I was hoping you guys might be able to tell me what is there. Is this an arts and crafts type of festival - like the Austin Fine Arts Festival? Or is this regular stuff that I could get at any shop another time? I can't really tell what to expect when I look at the website. If you could fill me in on the specifics I would really appreciate it. I am trying to decide if it is something my mom might enjoy.

Graphing Calculators?

Hi all! I need some much needed help. I teach math at a high risk and poor school in Laredo. Some of my students are actually classified as homeless due to their living conditions. I'm trying to come up with ideas to have graphing calculators donated. I was thinking of maybe writing a letter to Texas Instruments seeing if they could donate some, or maybe even other schools in Texas? I know when I went to school in Pflugerville we all bought our own calculators. Here we have class sets for our students, but they calculators have to stay in the classroom so I can't assign homework.

I'm thinking of using the calculators as an incentive for the TAKS. We're a stage 5 school (which is BAD for those who don't know) and I'm thinking of trying to get a calculator for all my students who pass the TAKS. But I'd really like to get everyone in my classes one....around 65 students.

Do you think writing a letter would work? Does anyone have any experience doing anything like this? If not, dust to give me ideas would help!
