We use Glad containers, and we nest them, so the smaller things fit into the bigger ones. The lids stack nicely as well. I keep the pieces I use most within easiest reach, and the bigger ones up on the top shelf.

The only thing that has ever worked for me is keeping the tupperware with the lids on each one and then stacking. I love this method because I just reattach lids straight from the drainer and put it on the shelf, ready to go. Keep just a few of a variety sizes (2 of 5 different sizes for example) in front, then keep the miscellaneous or extra tupperware underneath or in a box further back. I dig in there if I'm out of my main stash or when I want to do giveaways for guests taking leftovers.

I have to echo the suggestion to only keep one to two types of tupperware...I recently cleaned ours out and donated or recycled a LOT of things that we don't really need. I also made a commitment to myself to quit buying food that comes in the "disposable" gladware containers. We keep the tupperware in a small cabinet (with some other things) and the lids in a drawer. My husband came up with the idea to number the lids and bottoms, and it works great! We used a permanent marker and used the same numbers on any pieces that can share lids. It's awesome, because when we are cleaning up from dinner, I can be putting food in the container and say "can you hand me a #3 lid?" Keeping the lids in the drawer really helps keep the cabinet organized and the numbers mean I don't spend time searching for a lid that matches.

OK, I am honestly not a very organized person. But the one area that I can say IS organized is my tupperware cabinet, probably more organized than anyone I know and it stays that way.

My first suggestion is to use your smallest cabinet for tupperware. It's just one of those things that will expand to fit any space you give it. Mine is super narrow.

Second, it really really helps if you have all of one kind of plastic storageware (tupperware, rubbermaid, snaplock, gladware, whatever) Two kinds at the most. Just because everything will nest better if you don't have 5 different brands. And just recycle those used sour cream containers.

I put the largest containers and odd-shaped containers on the top shelf. with their lids underneath them. On the second shelf I have a little wire shelf to give me extra room (meant to hold dinner plates I think). I put a nest of containers on top and the lids for them underneath. To the side of the wire rack I put a different shape of lid.

On the bottom shelf I put the ones I used most often.

When nesting tupperware, most people will try to just stack from biggest to smallest, which is logical but will not work. If you have 2 bowls the same diameter that nest, but one is deeper than the other, the deeper bowl goes on top not on bottom! Try it both ways - putting the deeper bowl on top will make the stack much shorter.

Anyway, I just got new tupperware myself, but with my old rubbermaid set, the square bowls were on the wire rack with square lids underneath and round lids to the side. The bottom shelf held rectangle containers with lids on one side of the stack and round bowls on the other side.

I store all my lips upright in a clear plastic shoe box, then stack the tupperware. Not ideal, because it gets disorganized very easily, especially when Dh goes looking in there.

Are any of your cabinets made into lazy suzans? I have one and stack mine in there. It is so much easier because I just have to turn it to the one I am looking for.

My mother came to our house while we were on our honeymoon to clean the whole place, and when we got back and I opened the cabinets to find she stacked everything. If you can put the smallest into the next size and organize that way, then you can place the lids in between the stacks. The lids kind of end up like cubby holes and to the right of them will be the size tupperware it fits. It's kind of a pain but that's my organized method thanks to my mom.

i don't use tupperware, but i have a million pyrex bowls and containers with plastic lids. i stack the containers on shelves (usually about 3 high) and have all the lids on the door in this:

My Tupperware cabinet is a disaster. I have already thinned out lid-less stray containers. But does anyone have suggestions for efficient and easily accessible ways to store them?
