It would be good for a BBQ because there is no mayo in it, so it can sit out for a while. Plus it's colorful and yummy! Link in siggy

Edit - For a BBQ you would probably want to double or triple the recipe.

Re: Side dish for 4th BBQue?

This Orzo Salad with Roasted Vegetables is perfect. You can make it a day in advance and it will be that much better for your party.
Re: Side dish for 4th BBQue?

I like cucumber salad

I peel and slice my cucumbers super thin in rounds

Then I chop tons of fresh dill

I mix together sour cream with a few splashes of vinegar

salt and pepper

Keep chilled. Its always best to make it ahead of time so the flavors can chill together.

Its great on a hot summer day. Cucumber just hits the spot for me!

Re: Side dish for 4th BBQue?

http://thecookingnurse.wordpress.com/2009/06/14/my-best-pasta-salad/

Re: Side dish for 4th BBQue?

Make a no-mayo potato salad. It can sit at room temp without going bad, and people who don't like creamy salads rave about it. Google "Clean Potato Salad." Add a diced cucumber, an extra Tbsp red wine vinegar, and cut the salt down to 1/2 tsp. Recipe is written for ~3lb of red potatoes.

Re: Side dish for 4th BBQue?

This is very good: http://www.beantownbaker.com/2009/06/corn-tomato-and-avocado-salad.html
