Mile High Music Festival

We went yesterday - and had a really great time! I'm a huge festival junkie, and I have to say, this was a pretty good one. IT definitely got pretty crowded as the day went on. I have a feeling today will be worse.

Pros

- Good setup. Two of the stages are tented, so you're out of the sun. The festival is trying to be green - recycling bins everywhere. We carpooled, and got to park really close to the entrance. There was a good food selection, and all was really tasty, and reasonably priced for a festival.

Cons

-No re-entry. $8 for a stinkin' Bud Light. They could have had a bit more free drinking water. They needed more people manning the entrance - we got there early, and had to wait a bit.

Music was excellent! I especially loved Newton Faulkner and Spearhead!  Eric Hutchinson and Born in the Flood were also really good. We heard a bit of Tom Petty, but wanted to get home at a decent hour, so left during his set. Traffic wasn't bad at all, but I have a feeling it could have been chaos later that night.

I'd planned to relax today, and get things done around the house. But a friend of a friend was selling her ticket for $50, so I'm heading back. DH and DD are getting back tonight, so I'll probably leave before Dave Matthews (dammit, I love him. I just love my daughter more).

I am SO glad we didn't get tix.  I want to see Dave so badly but I would roast to death out there in that heat and crowd!  I watched quite a bit of the webcast yesterday (Jason Mraz, Citizen Cope, OAR) and am planning to do the same today (I was hoping we could get it to work on the Wii but you need a plug in that you can't download on the Wii)  More power to ya - I hope you have fun!!  I am very jealous - I just couldn't do it!

I need to find some binoculars, we realized last night that you can see the big screen from our house, but unfortunately my eyes weren't quite that good ;)
Glad you had fun!

Yeah,  I'm glad it was fun!  One of my coworkers has been talking about it for weeks.  Yeah for your DH and DD coming home too.
