DH is in Houston!!

DH left San Diego Thursday morning, made it to DFW Friday afternoon to visit w/ my dad for a bit, then drove down to Houston today. Tomorrow, he'll start scoping out possible rentals then fly back to SD in a few days....hopefully w/ keys to a place for us to live. Big Smile

 It's getting close...less than 3 weeks 'til I'm back in Texas. :)

I bet you can't wait. It sounds like things are falling in place. I hope he finds a great place for you guys. I haven't paid too much attention, but what part of town are you looking to live in?

He's focusing primarily on the northern areas for now (Spring, TW) but today is going to look at places in Kingwood.

DH has already had a little adventure since being there. Yesterday, he went to his new office to meet a few folks in the morning, then intended to meet the realtor to look at places in the afternoon. On his way toward Tomball, his car started herkin' & jerkin' and the "service engine" light came on. He was worried b/c the nearest dealership was 15 miles away, but he made it. His car is only 3 y/o and just had maintenance done a week ago, so we think the problem is related. The dealership confirmed it and all repairs are under warranty. Yay. They gave him a free rental (he thinks it's funny their rentals are pick-up trucks) but now it doesn't look like his car will be ready before he flies out tomorrow afternoon.

Anyhow, the realtor wasn't able to meet y'day after all that, so he drove around looking at places he'd mapped out. He said the neighbors were super friendly and helpful. He called to tell me he was in LOVE with a particular house that he's been tracking online for weeks. Unfortunately, it's for sale (not rent) and while we do plan to buy, we will rent first to get a feel for the area while waiting for our house in CA to sell. I knew he would love that place and warned him against going there, and now all he wants is that house. LOL.  Too bad we're not ready to buy just yet!

Oh, wow, what an adventure. I'm glad he was able to make it to the dealership. Yep, you'll find a lot more trucks here than in San Deigo. I have such a hard time parking in San Diego, because I'm not used to such little parking spaces. Here the parking spaces are huge, I guess for all of the trucks here.

I really don't think you can go wrong in NE Houston, there are a lot of nice neighborhoods up that way. I hope you find a nice rental house.

Well just after I posted, DH called to say he's made an offer on a rental home and hopes to sign the papers in a couple of hours. Yay!! I just mapped the address, it looks to be in TW. I don't know landmarks, but on the map it appears to be near the Woodlands CC-Player golf course. Anyone know the area? Have any feedback good or bad??

I can't believe we're going to be there in just about 2 weeks!
