Recommend a nail strengthener, please?

I do not know what is up but man--I am breaking nails left and right right now. I got it while we were on vacation--lugging around luggage and all that. But now? They seem so flimsy and chipped and splitting.

I usually get a manicure once a week so I'd like to think I take care of them.

Any recommendations for something I can use to try and get these babies back in shape?

TIA?

Sally Hansen always has really great product for nails.  You could try one of her products.  I've tried her diamond strength colors before and they are great.  They are a little expensive (about $6/bottle) but totally worth it.  Just watch how much you apply as more than two coats can get gloppy and a mess and then you've defeated the purpose of the nail polish.

I loved Sally Hansen's strenghener in th egreen bottom.  Then they have colors in nude called hard as nails and hard as wraps (which I used all of the time) and it makes your nails literally like wraps.  They were never stronger.

Nail Tek II- I just had my fake nails taken off last weekend and the tech told me that was the absolute best stuff to get them stronger again.  So far I've noticed a big difference and it's only been three days.

I used to use a product called Witchcraft on my nails, and it made them super strong.

another vote for nail envy, it's a miracle worker. ppl always think i have a french manicure when i'm only wearing the nail envy.

ditto OPI nail envy. I considered trying the nailtek (sp??) but it had almost the exact same ingredients as nail envy...so I decided to stick with it.

Sally Beauty Supply also has a great product called Nail Life.  I'm not sure who it's made by, but it does great things for my nails.

Nailtiques!  I had acrylic on my nails for so many years and never thought my weak and thin nails would be able to grow out on there own.  But, a co-worker recommended Nailtiques to me  (the one for soft and brittle nails) and I am amazed!  I've been using it for several years now, and my nails are long, pretty and shiny!  I love it!

slightly more natural route- check your vitamin intake. nails are the one of the first places that vitamin deficiencies show up. also, if you wash your hands frequently (food service), wear gloves for work (food service or medicine), or wash dishes by hand in a full pan of water, your nails can be a little more brittle....i learned the hard way.

hope this helps!

Eating Jello (or gelatin).  Not kidding.  I have short nails, and started eating a jello cup every day for 6 weeks before my wedding.  Grew faster and stronger.  Mine usually peel when they get too long.
