What's cooking this weekend?

We have NO plans and it's the first weekend in months like that so I'm happy! But I feel like cooking, and we'll probably have my parents over Sat or Sun. What's cooking?

Haha, I'm in the same boat as you!  This is the first weekend we have had free in a LONG time and I am soooo ready for it.  I don't have much planned, and not totally sure what I'm making.  All I know is that I feel like baking something that is somewhat involved.

My husband probably wishes I baked! I'm thinking about trying ribs again.. Or maybe a stuffed, grilled beef tenderloin. DH wants to get lobster but he's from Maine where it's super cheap and could never buy it around here for $14.99 a pound!

Mmm! They look really good.

I know Sunday I am making homemade manicotti (noodles and all).

Other than that I'm not sure- we are semi busy this weekend so I might not have a lot of time to cook.

DH and I specificall dedicted this weekend to NO plans! The only no-plan weekend since beginning of June until mid-Sept. Not even sure how we got our weekends booked...

Anywho, I am thinking some baking will be involved. I am *thinking* of baking:

- Cheeseburger cupcakes with fries

- Ice Cream Cone Cupcakes

- Corn on the Corn Cupcakes

- Cupcake Bites

... and then some other entree (which we haven't picked out yet).

But then again... it's a free weekend... I may just be too lazy to do anything!

We are going to the beach and we'll have about 10 people

I'm making cinnamon roll cake, rice krispy treats, s'mores, beer brats, potato slabs, wagon wheel pasta, grill some bbq chicken, waterlemon.  We'll probably get some corn and grill veggies too.  I should make a cucumber salad but that wont travel so I'll have to make it over the weekend.

I went overboard, and my to-cook list for this weekend is a little out of control.

pizza
rye bread
dill dip
PW's bacon-wrapped jalepeno things
carne adovada (comparison of 3 recipes)
brioche tart
ice cream
brownies
raspberry sauce
green chile huevos rancheros
salsa

We were out of town last week, and I did almost no cooking, so I was in the mood for it when I got back.  I'm sure after this weekend, I'll be ready for a break!

We have some projects around the house to take care of, but I'm SUPER excited because our kitchen will be functional tonight!! WOOOHHHOOOO!

Tonight we're doing lobster and corn on the cob.

Tomorrow I'm baking red velvet cupcakes and Mounds cupcakes for a fellow Nestie's cookout. Then I'm going to make Dorie's Chipster topped Brownies to send my dad for a belated father's day gift. Other than that, I'm not sure at this point...

We have been invited places, but it is SO hot that outdoor bbqs sound miserable.

I am making beer can chicken on the grill with corn on the cob one day and hot dogs/burgers on the 4th.

My list keeps growing everyday!

I'll be making:
-Chili Dip
-Mango Shrimp Ceviche
-Spinach & Artichoke dip baked in Wonton wrappers
-Sweet & Sour Meatballs
-Drunken Watermelon (easiest thing on my list!)
-Stuffed Strawberries

and if I can get a break tomorrow I'll probably make some cupcake pops or mini-cheesecakes.

We're having our own 4th party, just the 2 of us :)  I'm making pulled pork which I plan on starting at 3 a.m. Saturday morning.  Ugh, what am I getting myself into? :)  So the pork and the usual sides, maybe some grilled shrimp as an appetizer too.
