Sangria- Shiraz, Pinot Grigio, or Chardonnay?

I know a pp just asked this question, but I was planning on purchasing Chardonnay, but am now second guessing my choice.

I am planning on adding White grape juice (or White Cranberry juice), Peach Schnapps, Club soda, and fruit (summer peaches, raspberries, and blackberries).

It depends on whether you are doing a red or white sangria.  If you are doing red, shiraz works great.   If you are doing white, I think that either of those white wines would work, although I would lean towards a Chardonnay.  Links in my blog to recipes that I recently made.

Id go with the Pinot since its lighter than the Chardonnay.  Chardonnay just seems really dry to me, I think something a bit sweeter would be better for Sangria.  I dont think Pinot Grigio is dry though, but definitely not as bitter as Chardonnay.

I did a really great white sangria with OJ and ginger ale. I had a combo of Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc. Worked out really well.

I would opt for Sauvignon Blanc with Pinot Grigio as my back up
