Up here in good ol' Iowa we call it POP.

If you go to a restaurant and want to know if they have Coke or Pepsi, you simply ask:

"What kind of pop do you have?"  :)

And I'm from Minnesota...and I've always called it soda! 

Pop is a sound, Coke is a kind of soda...;)

Pop, although my dad has always called it soda. When I go to a restaurant and want to know what they have I ask Do you have Coke or Pepsi.

As a kid I only said soda and I thought it was weird when my Ohio cousins called it pop. Then we moved back home to Ohio....... and now it's probably 50/50

I call it soda, but if I ask for a coke, it means either coca cola or pepsi. if I ask for a sprite I get either sprite or sierra mist...

coke is a flavor

I usually call it soda but I find myself saying to DH "Man, I need a coke" then go grab a dr. pepper out of the fridge, or order a Dr. Pepper at the restaurant.
