RP: Falls Lake or Jordan Lake?

Hey there, DH and I are thinking about heading to one of the swim/beach areas at either Jordan Lake or Falls Lake tomorrow, something close to Cary/Raleigh but a fun ambiance, nice water, etc. Any experience with either of these two places and which do you prefer and why? Thanks!

I haven't been to either, but I've heard both are insanely crowded 4th of July weekend, but I'm sure you anticipated that anyway.  I did see a story on WRAL yesterday that part of Falls Lake has been closed for swimming due to increased bacteria levels so I prob wouldn't go there. Stick out tongue

Everytime we've gone to Falls it has been packed.  Ridiculously packed and people can be pretty rude.  We've only been to Jordan once, we actually went for camping, and it was very nice.  Our campsite was right on the water.
