I need advice. I am repainting my kitchen next week. I have a fairly large kitchen, and it has a VERY large window that brings a lot of light in... so the paint in the kitchen has faded, plus it's a green that I no longer like. I have no idea what to repaint... I was thinking a peach.. or a yellow? I don't know... the problem is... btwn the kitchen and the living room is the "accent wall" (hard to describe) and that's a darker brown, beige color.. so whatever color the kitchen is.. it needs to "go with" the living room. Blue is out. Red is out. Are lighter colors possible? HELP
I think a lighter color would look pretty!
Check out this blog post, it's from a nestie on my local board. Her husband is a professional photographer and he took pictures of their kitchen's transformation. They painted the kitchen sort of like a yellowish tan (maybe that would look good with your brown?).

A yellow/gold/tan would look good with your brown accent wall. What color are your cabinets and counters?
Ceventa - I'm so glad you posted that blog . . . that kitchen looks great! I'm currently choosing paint colors for my kitchen and I was leaning toward a gold/tan color. I too have dark cabinents and dark granite so I've been looking for inspiration pics.
what color are your cabinets, countertops, floors? do you have any pieces already that you want to match?
what kind of colors are you normally drawn to? neutrals, earth tones, brights? light or dark colors?
I saw an orange kitchen that I really liked! It really brightened up the room.
