Hey girl, how long did it take you to get your marriage license back?  I figured ours would be in the same time frame maybe?  We still don't have it and it's been almost a month ...

I don't know what the specific situation is with your license, but I remember that this happened to us too.  It turned out that the wedding coordinator at the church neglected to file it!  When I contacted the minister about it, he confronted her and she confessed it hadn't been filed yet.   Yikes!  But once confronted she quickly filed it.

it should only take a couple weeks from what I heard? Our priest didn't file our right away because he was having surgery right after our wedding so it took awhile to get ours

Yikes is right!  Good think you called!  I'm worried something like that happened.  I'm also concerned because hubs has a bad habit of ripping up junk mail without opening it.  Hopefully he would notice what it was?!

When I got nervous about mine not being filed, I checked the County Clerk Marriage record website and they got our information. Which county did you get married in?

Hey, Shu!  Great idea ... but I can't figure out how to do it. :-/  I got married in Montgomery County.  Every website I find wants me to pay. haha.

I hand delivered mine over lunch one day... then they mailed it back to us about 2 weeks later.

Hey Ayers, mine only took a few weeks.  Check with Deacon Tony to make sure it was sent or our good friend Connie.  Which address did you have it sent to (beaumont or your parents)?  If not I would just call the county clerks office instead of doing it online so you can explain the situation.

Ayers, I looked too and it seems your county sucks! (I kid . . . I kid) Here's the best I could find:

It has an 'e-mail us' option and if they are like my county, you should hear from them promptly. The e-mail response I got was detailed and helpful.

LOL - thanks SHU.  :) 

I called and apparently it was filed in Harris County because that's where we purchased it.  I will give it another week.  We already bought out plane tickets for Orlando for Sept. so I'm not changing my name any time soon, so no biggie.

You can change it, but then you have to bring both your old and new license and the marriage cert.  My Mom did it and it was a big hassle, so she said to wait.  1 year anniv. name change sounds good. haha. 

What island are you going to?!  So exciting!
