Baby Shower

I am helping throw a baby shower in a few weeks and I need help with some game ideas.  If anyone has any suggestions it would be greatly appreciated.  My friend is having a baby boy.  Thanks =)

my friend just did a jungle theme for a baby boy shower...vines hanging around with silly monkeys hanging off them, each table's cloth was a different animal print, silly stuffed jungle animals as the centerpieces, the cake looked like a jungle, etc...it was so much fun and super cute!

One that was played at mine... a different candy bar melted inside the diaper (looks like poo) - and you had to guess what candy bar it was by the looks & smell of it. They used about 10 different ones I think.

This was a lot of fun. Instead of having everyone suck or bite on their ice cube, I put them each in a cup. While we were eating everyone was watching their baby to see whose "water would break" first. (aka, whose ice cube would melt first).

I've seen the candy bar in the diaper game like the pp said.

At my shower they filled up a giant bottle (piggy bank) with a bunch of little baby items. My mom walked around with it and then took it away. Everyone had to write down as many things as they could remember. It was okay, but not the most fun!

Also at my shower, every guest was given a little cloth diaper cutout and a pin to pin it onto their shirt. After presents were opened my Mom told everyone to "change their diaper" meaning to open it up. 2-3 of them had a yellow/brown mark that she had made with a marker in it to symbolize pee or poop. Those were the winners. I think she bought that game at a party store or somewhere, but you can cut out your own diapers using cloth.

Have fun!

Oh - another game is to have jars of baby food with the labels removed. You have to taste it (or, you can just look at it to make it harder) and guess what it is.

At my cousin's shower we played a game where I listed a bunch of animal names and they guests had to try to name what the babies are called...for example: whale   _______

               turkey _______

There are some lists on line already made up for you with about 20 animal names. The guests had fun with it (and learned something, too...it's the teacher in me).

There is also a fun game where the guests have to fill in missing words to nursury rhymes or answer questions about the nursury rhymes.

Another great one is to list a bunch of candy names and gums and the guests have to come up with words of advice for the mom or well wishes for the baby using the candy names. (For example, Dear baby, I hope that your RED HOT mama's WHOPPERS are never MILK DUDS. May you be a SMARTIE and always try to reach for the MILKY WAY. )  I was very surprised about how great these came out...most were very sweet...my cousin kept them all and put them into a book. There is a list of the candies online as well.
