New Job Advice RECRUITORS HELP!!!

Nykola where are you????

THere is a job I really really really want.  Amazing pay & benefits.  I'm working with one recruitor on it, I've been presented to the CFO (who is on vacation)

But now I have another recruitor company that I work with, and they want to present me to the same company!  I know I'm not suppose to be presented by two recruitors...but I really really want this job and I'm a little tired of "playing it cool"

The new recruitor thinks it's a great opportunity and knows the CFO well....

AHHHHHH

I want it so bad I can taste it!

I'm here!!

Aye...this is a touchy situation. Let me consult my recruiting peers on IM and get back to you with advice.  Ettiquete would say that you stick with one recruiter.  The end could be messy when they fight for who gets the credit for you as a candidate.

I'll get back to you in 15 minutes or so with more advice!!!

I think it might come back to hurt you unless you are completely honest with the 2nd recruiter and allow them to present you if they'd like to, and letting your first recruiter know about #2 as well.

The company might feel like you're not being entirely ethical with your two recruiters if you are presented twice, which could cancel out the job for you.

N.carolina girl is right.  I gotta say, as a recruiter, if a candidate gets on my bad list, it doesn't matter how stellar they are. It reflects very poorly.

OKay I told the 2nd recruitor about it - and we chatted cuz I guess she knows the CFO personally and that's who I'm trying to get in with...

So "supposedly" they aren't going to send my resume in but they will tell her all about me and put a good word in.

But I've been waiting for over a week to hear and it's bugging me

Okay here's the update.  I just walked around and chatted with a few recruiters about this...

A couple of things to consider:

1)  A lot of companies have a rule about double-submissions.  If you are presented by 2 separate recruiters, they automatically kick you out of their recruiting process (sounds violent..but you see what I mean.)  So find out if this company has that rule.

2) If you want the other recruiter to put in the good word, I would call the company or someone within and explain the situation...telling them you are genuinely interested and explaining why you may be a double-submission.

3)  Remember that recruiters...especially Agency Recruiters are sales people.  So this other recruiter with the "personal relationship" with the CFO or whatever could be magnifying it for his/her own sake....

I'm in pharmaceuticals and all my jobs have come through recruitors.  I always just tell them that I have already been submitted to that company.  Once a company has your info either from you applying online or from an employee or recruitor they will not pay anyone else who gives them your info.  Therefore it is not worth the second person's time to submit you.

When I was looking for a job I always worked with 5-15 recruitors just because they all have relationships with different companies, but I was always open with them that I was working with other people.  Sticking with only one or two recruitors can really limit your options.
