I don't have any postings for you, but wanted to give you hope. I taught 1st grade for five years and have since been an education program manager (and simultaneous full-time admin person, difficult but a good starter experience) at a nonprofit arts org., helped an educational consultant get her publication business off the ground and did desktop publishing/editing for her, and now am earning twice as much as I did teaching (well, in private school = not much money in the first place) as a technical writer for the gov't.
Like you are planning to do, it was a matter of tailoring my resume for each job, going for anything that sounded interesting (and telling people I was looking/personal contacts), selling myself, and personal follow-up. Best of luck to you!
