Looking for female OB...

Hello.  My husband and I moved to St Pete from Minneapolis, MN right after our wedding.  As we are starting to talk about kids...I need to find a new OB/GYN.  I loved my doctor in Minneapolis...but it's a little far to drive.  :-)  Any recs in the Tampa Bay area?

Thanks!

Hey I'm from Chippewa Falls, WI!!!  We have family in River Falls, Burnsville, MN and Jordan, MN.

I recently found an OB because my doctor only did GYN...but he's a man.  Gregory Todd, MD at Bay Area Women's Care in Clearwater/Countryside.  I have visited them a few times and really like the group and my physician (he is very personable).  But I understand you wanting a female.

For St. Pete Area I would look into Bayfront Medical Center (I know they have a big OB Group).

Good Luck!

WOW! Small World, isn't it?  My husband is mourning not being able to go to the MN state fair right now.  :-)

Thank you for the recommendation...I will keep it in mind.

HEY DH and I moved here from Rochester, MN almost 2 yrs ago. My aunt lives in Brooklyn Park, MN

Welcome to the area.

I first went to Carrie Funkhauser at Bay Area Women's Care. Absolutely love her, she went to the University of Iowa (I grew up in that are) I switched to Dr Elena Dolskaya at Tampa Bay Women's Care  727-456-0080 625 6th ave south ste 350 st pete fl in a brad new building, so everything is really nice there (Across street from Bayfront Medical Center, which is in downtown st pete) I switched b/c i wanted to get the IUD and my insurance wouldn't cover it at the other office. I have loved her from the frist time i met her, she is super nice, very informative, from England so she has a little different approach than just drugs and things all the time. i really rec her. too.

page me if you would like more info. or if you want to gtg sometime.

I had a great experience with OB/ GYN and Assoc. on 38th Ave. N. I used the midwives and was incredibly happy. I have several friends who have used the doctors and loved them as well. They are mainly associated with St. Pete General, which is a smaller hospital and you get really personalized care. They have super nurses, the office staff are great, and when you call with a message for the dr or midwife you usually get a call back within an hour or so.
