Recommend your liquid foundation

I was using this wonderful Bourjois mattifying foundation that I absolutely LOVED, but of course it has been discontinued.  Crying

I have oily skin, with large pores and I'm looking for a good liquid foundation that provides medium coverage and won't leave me uber-greasy.

My price range is $40 and under, but if you have a recommendation for something super awesome that is more pricey than that I would be willing to try it.

TIA!

Hi Lila!

Lots of people rave about MakeUpForever's Matte velvet foundation, which Ithink runs about $34.  A little goes a long way.

I've used it, and I will say that i'ts top notch for oil control.  Unfortunately, it accentuates my dry patches a bit too much.  Not perfect for me, but lots of people swear by it.

My friends have been raving about Make Up Forever Matte Velvet. I will be trying that next but I recommend it based on what I've heard.

I use Bobbi Brown and I really like it but I have combo skin for what it is worth. I'm not overly oily.

I love Make Up Forever Mat Velvet Foundation, but I have dry skin. I know one of my freinds with oily skin said it didn't work as well for her as it does for me.

I have super oily skin too, and after reading some reviews about the MUFE foundation, I will have to try it too.  I read the description on Sephora and it is water-resistant and oil free.  I normally use Lancome Teint Idole or Revlon Colorstay since they are transfer-resistant and  long wearing, but I am on still on my quest for the perfect foundation.

On MUA, a ton of girls are claiming this as their HG (Holy Grail) foundation, WOW.  It’s $34 at Sephora.

I have combo skin and I've used and really liked: Smashbox High Definition Healthy FX, Bobbi Brown, Prescriptives Virtual Skin, and MAC Hyperreal (I think that's the name of it?)

But, I recently gave in to the hype about the new-ish Sally Hansen Natural Beauty Your Skin foundation by Carmindy, and I LOVE it. (Except for the wildly long name.)

It's the only foundation I've ever found that doesn't add noticeable yellow or pink tones--the shade I use is perfectly neutral. It covers redness beautifully, and the coverage is very buildable. The only negative is that you do have to moisturize well or it can make you feel dry--also apply only one area at a time because it sets quickly (which may be a plus if you're at all oily.) I've actually gotten a bunch of complements from random strangers on my skin (and believe me, I would not be receiving them sans makeup). I never thought that I could be this pleased with a $13 foundation.

I have totally fallen for Clinique Superfit in the upright squeezy bottle.  That's my go-to foundation.

I also second the Carmindy foundation, it is neutral like NW Becca said and doesn't add additional color to your face.  Ulta has the Carmindy on BOGO 50% off right now so you can get the foundation and the primer for like $13 after you use the 20% off coupon.

Anyway, it's a relatively inexpensive way to test out a new foundation.

Hello Lila!

I don't use liquid foundation but I am uber picky about what foundation I use. I had been using Bare Minerals (I have oily/dry combination skin) and it was great, but not doing what I really wanted.

My esthetician (sp?) recommended Jane Iredale makeup and seriously...I will NEVER go back to anything else. It is absolutely A-Mazing!

It is the only medical makeup there is, and has actually changed my skin...and I've only been using it for 3 weeks! you can go to www.janeiredale.com and click on "where to buy" and it will give you a list of all the local places that sell it. It also has the benefits and other information about it as well.

I use the mineral loose powder foundation, and that runs me about $45 dollars, but it also lasts me for 3-4 months...so fairly cheap in the long run.

Hope this helps!!!
