Tiny Apt living room arrangement help!

Hey! My DH and I just moved to CT and into our first apartment. We are having trouble arranging the furniture and it just feels crowded (pictures are in my nest bio). How can we make this space work with our furniture. In advance thanks for your help! Big Smile

Maybe you have too much furniture? Is selling what you have for something more space friendly an option? I think two couches is a little much for the space and blocks off the area a little too much. You could alo take that desk against the wall away, and maybe put one of the couches on that wall instead. That would free up some space. Good luck!

we have a similar set up, but I would make one major change (at least from what I can see).  Put the TV on the wall to the left of the little door/windows. Put the couch where the window is, with a table on either side? and the loveseat where the couch currently is.  This will open the room rather than divide it and put less stuff on the long wall, that way you could put the desk in the living room but against the halfwall where you now have your loveseat - we have a similar arrangement but we use our loveseat to divide the room in 2 (I think ours is bigger).  This will definately open up the space for you guys.  is there some sort of a chair near the desk with a blanket on it? I think thats too much. try to keep furniture in a small apartment against walls. Also, not sure if you are covering the coffee table because its really nice and you don't want to scratch it (thats what DH did for 3 years before i came along and I sort of gave in). If its there for decoration (the runner) I'd get rid of it. with a small apartment, the "cleaner" the look the more open it will be. good luck!

another suggestion- I don't know if the lamp (that matches the one on the desk) thats near the TV is in use or just taking up space, but I would put that one on the end table and keep the matching one on the desk or chuck/sell it all together and get something cheap and more stream lined for the desk (I am talking like 5 bucks at walmart) but the bulkier the furniture, the tinier it will feel

why do people ask for help and then never acknowledge it?

This is exactly the set up I was going to suggest..
