Re. the public market in Rochester- you're talking about the one in the city, correct? If so, very worthwhile- I love it there! Make sure to go through the buildings as well (not just the outdoor pavilion). Lots of fun stuff to see/buy/eat.
As for other stuff, right nearby on Railroad Street is Rohrbach's brewery. They just relocated to a refabbed factory and their tasting room does tours/tastings on Saturdays. We're planning to go this fall for my bday.
