Car

I need a new car.  I want something that will be cute, affordable, and family friendly.  I don't like the boxy cars.  I would like to spend under 20k.  I want to be able to fit a family of 5 in it comfortably (we don't have kids yet, but plan to have 2-3 in the next few years).  Any suggestions or recommendations?  Thanks for any help. :D

I have a 2008 Impala and it is everything you just mentioned. It also has a HUGE trunk. You can get it with a sunroof, too. It  is just a little harder to find harder to find if you want the shifter in the console as opposed to on the steering wheel as is with the bench seat. The front seats are also wider than an Altima which makes for a comfortable road trip!

DH has a Mazda 3. I know it can definitely fit 2 car seats comfortably. It has the biggest trunk for that size car I have ever seen. A few people can fit in it. Plus, I have never seen a glove compartment so huge. I can fit my entire arm in it.

But he gets over 30 MPG and it costs under $20k. Very cute car. I did have one, but we traded it in for the new one. I loved it, and miss it every day when I'm driving my Corolla. If I had to choose a car right now to buy, it would be a Mazda 3.

I have a 2000 Chevy Impala. I don't have any kids yet but haul tons of other people's kids around. It seats five great, six if I need it to, and holds two carseats. The gas mileage is excellent and they are definitely priced right.

It's a fun and sporty car. I'm about ready to trade up and I think I want another one...lol. Drives great, doesn't scream mommobile and has some cool features.

I have a Toyota Yaris hatchback and love it! It's cute and is easily underestimated when it comes to cargo space! I get mid-upper 30s in mpg, and the price (I negotiated to under 12k) is hard to beat. The only issue would be seating a family of 5 "easily", it's a 2 door, so while it fits 5, getting car seats in or kids settled would be difficult.

But that's why they have the 4 door coupe version ;)
