My BIL made them. :) Long wood ties about 4" wide held in place with rebar and railroad stakes.  The beds themselves are about 6' x 52' x 1'.

I would say the difficult bit will be getting the proper grade and materials for drainage. I think there are a few inches of sand and gravel at the very bottom so that water doesn't pool in there and so that it drains out to the back of the property like the rest of the water would.
