Hi Ladies. I have been posting on this site(not this board) for a while now, but wanted to ask what your sons ages 10-14 like these days. I am putting together a shoebox full of some little things for Christmas for a 10-14 year old boy in need. I am not at all familiar with this age and what they like now so any help would be appreciated! Thanks so much!
My 13yr old son loves video games, NASCAR (Go Tony Stewart!!), food (beef jerky, chips, sour candy), and of course CASH!!
He also loves going to the movies, so maybe some movie passes would be good to include!
I have 11-year-old twin nephews, and video games seem to be the thing with them.
What you're doing is really sweet, BTW.
I second everyone's suggestions, except that if these are kids in need they may not have Ipods or video players.
You could get an Ipod shuffle, those are pretty inexpensive; movie passes; a neat hoodie, candy and beef jerky; McDonald's gift cards, a good book (Johnny Tremain comes to mind).
gt:As for books Rick Riordan is very popular with boys that age
may I suggest the Percy Jackson and the Olympian books. They are very popular with my 11 year old nephew and my 5th graders! Also popular with my nephew is his hoodie (favorite college team), his ipod shuffle (because he can hide it practically anywhere), and cold hard cash.
That's a difficult age for shoe box gifts! Playing cards would be good. Maybe a watch? A gift card to target, a winter hat, maybe some axe body spray...
