Nope.

I actually made CI's Fluffy Yellow Cake and SK's Best Birthday Cake on the same day, but then I brought the cupcakes to a party, got distracted, and never compared the results, which is so freaking lame.

For what it's worth, SK's recipe made prettier cupcakes.  Rounded tops, while CI's looked like sombreros (risen around the edges).

Thanks!

Not having a yellow cake one is a serious omission though.  I'll have to get to it someday.

well, it sounds like you have a winner already, so it should be an easy-ish post ;)

ive never found a yellow cake ive been totally thrilled with, but ive never tried SK's either, so yay!  i need to make cupcakes in a few weeks and i was going to go really simple - half yellow with chocolate frosting and half chocolate with cream cheese frosting.  i think im now done with my hunt for recipes to use.  sometimes simple is too complicated with too many choices.

al320:
sometimes simple is too complicated with too many choices.

This is exactly why I'm always doing comparison posts for cakes!  I can never choose a recipe!

and that's why i love your comparison posts.  i know i wont always have the same exact opinion on every recipe (or results) but it's such a good starting point.  and it certainly narrows it down since there are like 8,000,000 recipes for "the best brownie" (though, for me that will always be nick's supernatural brownies).
