Ruptured anal abscess??

My cat may have a ruptured anal abscess? She sat on me and I felt something wet, she got up and it was blood. In her anal area is all bloody. I looked in the litter box and no bloody stools. I called the vet, which is off hours now, and she said sounds like a ruptured anal abscess and isnt life threatening so I dont have to take her to the ER vet.

So, I am going to take her in tomorrow, but what do I expect? What will they do for her? I know that if she starts acting funny, bleeding more, etc. I will take her in tonight.

I am freaking out! I know it isn't major but to have blood on you from your cat is tough!!

Keep her comfortable, keep her bum clean, wash it (gently -- these HURT) with warm water and mild soap, and I think warm compresses can help.  

I'd get her in ASAP (but I agree it's not exactly an emergency) so they can flush it -- they may want to stitch it up or they may not -- and give oral antibiotics.

Although not an emergency, I'd take her somewhere tonight to get it flushed & her started on antibiotics & pain meds.  That can't feel good at all.
