those familiar with isle of palms...

we're looking to rent a house there this summer and I'm just curious about whether there are any 'bad' locations (since it is only a few blocks deep) or anything else to look out for? right now availability is good for a lot of places on vrbo and we want to book early. Is cameron blvd in the 20s/30s/40s pretty good? are there limited beach access point that we might want to be near (we'll have 11 month old twins & all their gear with us) to make the walk quicker/easier? do most houses have driveways/parking?

Also- I know Wild Dunes is a whole section of the island, if we see something in there, how to know if it is good location close to the beach?

Thanks!

My husband and I go to IOP a lot in the summer months.  Anything you find in the 20s 30s or 40s is decent.  Most houses that you can find on the east side of the island would probably be a short walk to the beach.  The residential area is nice, and most houses have driveways.  Beach access is normally available once a block or so.

When you go, just make sure that if you need to go to the grocery store, go before you get on the island, the one grocery store on the island is pretty limited. (theres are target and a piggly wiggly right before you to the island in Mt. Pleasant

There are no "bad" areas on IOP.  If you're in the residential area, Ocean Blvd. is the oceanfront street and the other streets are a block or more walk.  There is beach access every block or so.  The closer you get to the bars/hotels/park area, the more crowded the beach is, so the further away from 900 Ocean Blvd., the more private the beach will be.  When we rented on IOP, we used either Island Realty or Carroll Realty.  You might also want to check out Sullivan's Island. Ditto pps suggestion of grocery shopping across the connector in Mt. P. There's also a Publix across the bridge from Sullivan's Is.
