Hotel valet?

DH and I are taking a much needed mini-vacation to San Antonio next week. I got our hotel through priceline, and as I was researching it I discovered through reviews that they charge $25 a day for the valet parking.

Does anyone know if there is a way around that? We are staying in the Riverwalk area, so I thought that perhaps there is public parking that would be cheaper? We haven't ever been to San Antonio before, so I'm not really familar with the parking situation - but I don't want to pay $25 a day if we don't have to.

Whenever we go to San Antonio, we stay on the riverwalk and park our car at one of those 7 dollar a day lots. There's a big parking garage where you can park for 7 bucks also right off the riverwalk.  Just drive around and find one--it's way, way cheaper and there is no way around the 25 a day at the hotel fee. We just drop our stuff at the hotel, park the car, and walk back. Save that $$! GL!

I'd call the hotel as well. Most places on the riverwalk charge for parking, but there might be a cheaper fee for self park than for valet. It's worth a phone call to check!

I am in the industry and you prob can't get around it minus parking in a public lot. Just enjoy the valet and visit Pat O' Brians for a few hurricains and you will forgot about it!

Thanks girls! I think we'll look for one of those $7 a day lots, and use the money we save on some good food!
