I am not in the medical field which is why I say see a doctor.
I managed back issues for 18 years before needing surgery. Literally had only 3 visits to the dr. in 18 years to get prescription Naprosin (ibuprofin) and went to physical therapy (1 time for 6 weeks) which worked wonders all those years.
Only this past summer did I finally end up with no choice but to go for microdiscectomy surgery (and it was because I couldn't get out of bed and when I got to ER, the MRI showed extremely bad herniation and I had loss muscle strength (ankle reflex) and numb butt, back thigh and most of foot.
I do not know what you have but I do know it's worth seeing the dr. I would think if you are still mobile, you may have just strained something. But worth talking to a doctor.
If you herniated a disc (or have a bulging disc), there are PT exercises that can be extremely successful. The numbess/tingling is what would suggest you need help from dr. You don't want your nerve to stay compressed very long.
Good luck.
Again, I wouldn't worry but I would see I doctor based on my experience.
