*pandi* and anyone else willing to help....

What should I do with my hair? It has essentially looked the same for the past 4 years, and I'm interested in something new. This was brought on by a girl I know who had very long brown hair until recently, when she chopped it to her shoulders and had it highlighted. She looks completely different and much more mature and put together! I'm a teacher, and it would be nice to not constantly be mistaken for a student. Below is a (blurry) picture of what I'm working with right now. TIA!

This is going to be an obvious statement, but if you want a new look you have two options, shorter or longer. Shorter is a faster change and you have a pretty face so you could pull it off going a little shorter, but I would still recommend a bob, just a shorter one. I don't think that is enough of a change for you IMO.

I think you should grow it out a little more. This takes longer but I don't think you have to grow it too much longer before you feel the change. Maybe just to your collarbone. And as it grows gradually transition from a bob to long layers.

The goal being something like this

Haha. Yeah, I've been wanting to grow it out because it hasn't been long (my opinion of long) in probably 4 years. It's a painful process! I keep saying I will do it, but then I get annoyed with it and just chop it off. So, if I allowed it to grow, would you suggest any changes color-wise? Being as pale as I am, I'm not sure what would look good beyond what I'm use to.

I like you with the color that you have now. Do you color it now, or is that your natural color? If you don't I would suggest just a color to make it look richer. I can't tell what your color is exactly from that picture. You could also do some subtle highlights just to give you a little change and to warm it up. But from the picture, if you don't change a thing with the color, I still think it looks good.

I had this same problem until yesterday, when i finally went and got my haircut! It had been long layers with angled bangs for like 3 years, and i was just waiting to get past our wedding to chop it all off. I had dreams of everything from hacking it all of a la Rihanna, to what i ended up with, which is very similar to the picture in PP, just a little choppier. I LOVE my new bangs, and even that made such a huge difference, even without hacking off all my hair--it now sits on top of my shoulders, whereas it used to hang below my brastraps.
