When to start job searching?

I am a full time college student but have 4 current jobs. I am a licensed physical therapist assistant and all my jobs are PRN except one which is adjunct faculty. So, my work schedule is great I work when I want, etc. but in Dec. I graduate with a bachelors degree in Psyc.

I plan on working full time, but my start date cant be until Jan. 18. I plan on keeping up with therapy as my job, will go back to school in a yr probably for Law.

I kind of know the answer to my question, but is it too soon to look for full time work? I mean sometimes with healthcare you have to take a physical, etc and sometimes can take awhile to actually get hired on.

But I'm an eager beaver and need to know where Im going to go, but with health care a job may be available now but not in Jan, etc.

Also, why I'm not being full time at my current jobs is because one location is too far of a commute for 5 days a wk, another is not looking for anyone full time, and the last job i just recently started and learning that I dont like them.

When should I start looking? Thanks!

Immediately. January is in 2 months. I don't know if I've ever been hired that quickly.

I interviewed in September and October for my first job out of college, and had accepted my best offer by November.  I graduated in May.  This was not at all unusual for my program, but medical may be different.  Still, it is certainly not too early.

Start now, just make them aware of your availability date in your cover letter.

Start now. Everything that people are saying on this board implies that it is taking people a lot longer than they had imagined to find a job. Good luck to you!

I agree with PP, start looking now. It took my current employers 3 months to make the final hire of me. Plus, you need to factor in that with all of the holidays coming up, that's even more time that possible employers won't have to interview you.

It is never too early.  I have a second interview this week for a position which I applied for in August.

Start looking now... I had my job lined up 5 months prior to graduation, especially in this economy, it may take a while for you to find a position that you like and that makes enought money to stabilize your lifestyle.  It seems like you have other skills/abilities to get by on, but I would still be putting in ap's asap... like yesterday, lol.
