Travel/Airport Question

Hi Ladies-

I am from Michigan but I have a travel/airport question in the Sarasota/Tampa area. My IL's just bought a place in Sarasota.....they are located at the I-75 and Clark Road exit. If we can't fly into Sarasota (there aren't many flights from there to Michigan that are non-stop and we have a small baby....) would it be closer to fly to Tampa or to Fort Myers?? My IL's are not familiar with the area yet, so they haven't been much help. If anyone knows, please help me out!

I know Tampa is about 1 hr and 15 min away from Sarasota.  We go to Sarasota every year, and one we decided to go to a theme park in Tampa.  Ft Myers might be about the same, but if not, not much of a difference in time (10-20 min).  I'd recommend flying to the cheapest airport.  Or flying to Tampa and taking advantage and going to a theme park (Sea World or Busch Gardens)?  GL and have a great time!

You might have more luck posting this on the FL West Coast board. I think Sarasota is right in the middle between Tampa and Fort Myers, but I think Tampa has a bigger airport. You can also look at flying into the St. Petersberg airport.
