i need your HONEST opinion Re: baby shower gift....

ok- so i bought a former co-worker a bath tub/shower for her baby. same exact one that michael uses and loves. yesterday- we went down to galveston, so i took the shower gift out of the back of my car and placed it in the garage until we got back. well, SOMEHOW either that bathtub moved or DH parked dangerously close to all the JUNK on the right side of our garage, but DH ran over my shower gift.. i freaked! so he gets out and pulls the tub out (because the box is a goner) and the tub is fine!!!

i'm far too embarassed to bring that tub without a box... to me it looks like i just wrapped up something i didn't use. sooo-- what do you think i should do? i was thinking of going get some bath accessories, like toys, washrags, etc. and just putting them inside the tub with tissue paper and then just putting the tub in one of those huge gift bags (plastic bags)... would that be tacky?

it's either that or staying at home and bringing it to her the next day she comes up to school because i'm totally embarassed by yet ANOTHER careless "mistake" my DH has done... ((see monkey eating camera and leaving ipod out in the rain)).

UGH UGH UGH.................... that's a whole nother post...

I like the basket idea.  I have seen at showers where people put some diapers, wet wipes, bath supplies all the the tub with a huge bow around it.  I wish I had a picture.  I think its an awesome idea and like star I would have probably done that myself.

I'd definitely just make it a gift basket. See if you can find some of the smaller accessoies she has on her registry (assuming she has one.)

And then wrap it in the big clear cellophane bags, and tie it off pretty.

Ditto this! I got one of these at one of my showers and LOVED it! In fact, we still use that bathtub from time to time!

While I was reading this post, I was going to suggest making it into a gift basket. I think that is a cute and wonderful idea! Put a big bow around it, you can even buy the clear celophane wrap at Michaels if you want to go that far. I'm sure she will love it!

Make it a cute gift basket.... and then after the shower, you can joke w/ your friend about why you gave her an upwrapped gift. It's a funny story - anybody would appreciate it, and nobody would expect you to get a different gift.

I got a bathtub with bath stuff at one of my showers, and I loved it.  It's not tacky at all!
