natalie i had to do this for my grandfather a few years ago - my mom & aunt are involved, but i was the only one he would give poa to, so i had to sign the paperwork...it's really hard, and its been over 2 years, and i'm not going to lie, there are still days i leave the nursing home in tears...but you always have to remind yourself that its for their safety & well being!
heck, i was at an open house last weekend, and the agent told us that the owner was an 83 yo woman who had to be placed by her neice, and they are selling the house so they can pay for her care...i left the house in absolute tears...
