Moving to Rock Hill/ Ft Mill...Help?

Hi there. We are moving to Rock Hill or Ft Mill area in 9 months and I was wondering if someone could tell me a little bit more about the area. We are so excited to get away from Vegas and the stucco nightmare!! TIA for any posts!!

Congrats on your move!  I live in the Raleigh area, so I can't help with your question, sorry.  The board can get a bit slow on weekends so if you don't get many answers now, definitely post again on Monday.

...and they lived happily ever after.

I don't even know where those places are, so I can't help. However, I did move here almost 2 years ago from Vegas and just wait, it's soooooooo much better here! Yay to another Vegas hater.

Some of the Charlotte girls on the board may know, so check back Monday!  Especially Starz bc she's in SC.

I'd probably poll the SC board, too.

Ft Mill and Tega Cay are really growing fast.  There's a neighborhood called Baxter...I think it's considered Tega Cay area...it's really nice though.  They have their own little community.  Indian Land is also growing quickly...it's right outside of Ft. Mill closer to the NC line.  I personally don't like Rock Hill but that may just be me.  Congrats on moving! You'll love it here :o)

deployedbride!  hi and i hope you like SC.  i am in SC but i'm not too close to that area--about 1.5 hours away from there.  i do like SC though.  we've thought about moving to the rock hill area just to be closer to NC (where our family is).

I work in Fort Mill.  I would take Fort Mill over Rock Hill, but thats just me.  Some places to look in Fort Mill would be (assuming you are looking to purchase) Knightsbridge, Baxter Village, Regent Park (I like the older section of Regent better than the newer)....but there are plenty more great neighborhoods too.  Another good area is Tega Cay, I love that area.  Its built right around the lake with walking trails, a golf course, and lots of shopping is building up out that way.

I think I prefer Fort Mill to Rock Hill.  Fort Mill is closer to Charlotte.  We have good friends that just moved to Baxter and its super cute.  www.villageofbaxter.com

I live in Rock Hill and work in Fort Mill, What are kind of info are you looking for?
There are many nicer communities in both Rock Hill and Fort Mill/Tega Cay, you should definitely find something. The Fort Mill area is more up and coming, Rock Hill is expanding a lot also, but mostly to the western side which is further from the interstate (if you get a job in Charlotte, that could make for a cummute).
